Tommy's Tavern & Tap, the Jersey Shore-born casual chain, has signed for the same property with an announced Spring 2027 opening, per Urban Edge Properties. Route 17's free-standing pads
Free-standing pads on Route 17 are absorbing the concepts that do not fit into a mall footprint.
Kabab Cafe, a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean concept, is preparing to open on Route 17 with döner kababs, shawarma, wraps, salads, rice platters, pastries and a full coffee program. The owners are pairing it with a connected bakery concept called KC Bakery Café, and the site will include booth seating, outdoor patio seating, takeout and delivery. The other Route 17 story is not a restaurant at all. Restaurant Depot has leased 91,135 square feet at 577 Winters Avenue with a planned late 2026 opening, taking an existing big box off the highway.
